This is an introduction to my Computer Application Technology (CAT) Practical (PAT) 2025 on the topic of the Ethical use of AI tools and systems in Education & Training sector.

Focus Question

How can the ethical use of AI in education and training be ensured while balancing innovation, privacy, and fairness for all stakeholders?

Who is the target audience?

My focus group includes high school students (ages 14-18), university students (ages 18-25), young adults (ages 25 and older), and adults 45 and above. It encompasses individuals who currently have the ability to integrate AI into their education or training, this target audience mostly include students and teachers in South Africa.

What will be the focus and purpose of my investigation?

The focus of my investigation would be to investigate how the Education and Training sector could enhance their ethical use of AI systems on a national level. The purpose of my investigation is to explore the impact of AI tools, how this sector could be affected by the unethical use of AI tools, what challenges, implications and consequences are associated with the use of AI tools and how these challenges and implications can be overcome.
